Pre WW1 French Captain 2nd inf regt Overcoat 1904 dated excellent shape sz 38

Description

Original early pre ww1 French officer overcoat in absolute excellent shape. Highest of quality melton wool,tailored with leather reinforced pocket lining, bellowed back, etra reinforced stich, etc...Original collar 2 unit insignia usually missing.  Lining excellent shape.Maybe the inside collar stitching is coming loose in places.otherwise for a almost a 120 year old coat to survive the Great war is amazing. This was made for field use but maybe officer bever used this one in the trenches maybe pre trenches marne  1914 era. Has a slight smell but can be aired out. nothing serious or no smoke or cat smell.  hasall buttons. Hard to upgrade to a better coat for early war display at a time the quality and motivation of the armies were in the extreme than the battle fatigued munity prone army of later .
